The Problem

The old site was a table-based layout from 2014 — yellow text on a solid black background, chunky beveled nav buttons, and a fixed width that didn't adapt to any screen. It hadn't been meaningfully touched in over a decade: the header still had a leftover "TEST" placeholder in the contact block, and one of the section headings had a straight-up typo ("BUSINES"). For a 20-year business with real product depth — dozens of stone types, cuts, and colors — none of that inventory was actually browsable or findable in search.

Design Decisions

Plain HTML/CSS/JS, no framework. This is fundamentally a product-catalog site — mostly static content that doesn't change often. A framework would add build complexity for no real benefit; hand-written HTML/CSS/JS keeps it fast by default and easy to host anywhere.

Built from a construction-industry template, heavily customized. Rather than starting from a blank page, the rebuild started from the Construxo template — a legitimate construction/industrial base — and was reworked throughout to fit a stone supplier specifically: a rugged-but-modern look, real product photography, and copy written for how this business actually talks to customers.

A dedicated page per product. Stone buyers search for specific things — "PA fieldstone," "creek stone steppers," "natural cleft veneer." Instead of one page trying to cover everything, each product type got its own indexable page, targeting exactly those searches instead of competing against itself.

The Build

  • 16 pages total, including 11 individual product pages
  • Plain HTML/CSS/JS — no framework overhead, fast by default
  • SEO-first structure targeting local, product-specific search terms
  • Contact form that emails the owner directly, live on the client's own domain and host

The Result

SLEAk did a complete overhaul and revamping of my website. WOW! I was fifth in the rankings and am now at number one. And immediate sales to boot, the day after the new site went live. Steve did a terrific job and made this painless for me. I can’t wait to see what he does with the next update!
